Happy Valentine's Day!!
I looooooooooooooooooove Valentine's... I just think its a fun celebration of love... Love for life, love for your sweetheart and love for your family.
Here are some fun ideas for celebrating with the whole family... some of them I found online, some I've been doing for several years.
If you have any fun traditions I'd love to hear them!
Valentine’s
Day
- The mirror is a perfect place to
start the day with a love note. Use red lipstick to scribble a quick note:
"You are my Love"
"You are so sweet"
- Hang treat
filled bags from a bedroom doorknob or place them on the breakfast table.
- Set a Valentine breakfast table that
will surprise your family when they wake up. Fancy dishes, table cloth, hearts scattered everywhere . If
you’re not a morning person prepare the night before.
- Breakfast… Heart Shape Pancakes or
Strawberry and Whip Cream waffles or crepes.
- Make a sack
lunch special...
Turn a regular ham and cheese or PB&J sandwich into a Valentine surprise, using a heart shaped cookie cutters. Add a few "hugs and kisses" chocolates and a special note.
- Many pizza places offer heart shaped
pizza's or use a heart shaped cake pan to make a meatloaf.
- Eat your Valentine's dinner by candlelight
- "Cupids Delight" Cherry
Float cherry 7-up, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and a
maraschino cherry on top.
- End the evening with a family
movie. Try a favorite romantic comedy, or kid-friendly Disney movies
like Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast.
- Have little mailboxes for each member
of the family (Target dollar section)… for a couple of weeks before Valentine's Day leave secret notes and treats
for each other and then open your Valentine’s mailbox at your Valentine’s
dinner.
- Yummy desserts… heart shaped brownies (cookie cutter)… topped with ice cream, hot fudge and a maraschino cherry. Heart shaped angle food caked topped with strawberry and whip cream.
Happy Love Day!
