1. Yesterday I was so ADD... I want to played hookie...there was too much sunshine to be enjoyed to have to be sitting inside working on a laptop... today is rainy and wet again so I feel much better about having to be tied to my laptop.
2. We're watching our friends six kids right now (at their house) while they're out of town for the week. I grew up in a big family so I know some of the work that goes in to it but its been awhile... and I'm rusty... I forget how much juggling it takes... yesterday we had scouts, seminary, young women's, chores, a field trip, dinner and homework. Plus I have a real job and my own child...But its fun, we love these kids and I'm glad we were able to help.
3. I so want to go to the lake. Lake days are almost upon us!
4. I need to start practicing cooking with a dutch oven. I've done it before... but I'm a bit rusty. Girl's Camp is in a month and two days and I'd hate for the little chickadee's to starve because I can't remember how many coals go on the bottom and top.
6. Speaking of Girl's Camp in a month and two days. IS ANYBODY ELSE STRESSING OUT??????????? Soooo much to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7. This summer is the huge Boone reunion. The one with allllll my dad's siblings (14)... cousins, their kids... its mayhem, so fun and a huge part of my life.
This year its in Arizona in the small pioneer town of Snowflake (named after the Snow family and the Flake family... we are the Flake's...and yes we've heard the jokes...thanks)... My Grandmother Ruth was from Snowflake... I'm so excited to go back... its been way too many years since I've been there. I'm excited to take pictures of the home my grandmother grew up in called the "Big House" because, well its a big house. I'm excited to visit my grandparents graves which I haven't done in forever. I'm excited for the Rodeo and the cook outs and all the other fun things that go along with Pioneer Day in a Pioneer town...
But this is my dilemma... I will have a 9 month old... and I'm going solo... no husband (who after 13 years of us being together has never been to this reunion... grrr.)
Which is less painful... to fly in to Phoenix, get a rental car and drive the three hours by myself with a baby in the back who is liking his car seat less and less as the days go by (and has already done the hour and 20 min drive to the airport and then the flight)
OR... fly in to SLC and drive the 12 hours with my parents and have help?
Thoughts?
And because we need a picture... these are from our young women's activity last night... we were making flags for girls camp... the younger girls were quiet and coloring the lines... the older girls went a little crazy with their creativity and ended up covered in paint. And unfortunately their flag ended up equally as "creative"... cute girls!
