As I've said before I love scrapbooking... it's not really about the hobby (even though I love that part as well)... its about the connections that are made... recording those memories that would other wise be forgotten.
I feel like scrapbooking has made me aware, more connected, more involved in my life and the lives of others.
I was excited when my when my sweet friend Stacy Julian (founder of Simple Scrapbooks magazine and Big Picture Scrapbooking) asked to me be participate in the first ever blog blitz. I love Stacy's approach to life and to scrapbooking. She looks and things differently and she challenges me look at things differently.
I'm excited for the opportunity to take a step back and look at my life right now. Life is so busy and ever changing. Sometimes we have to slow down, pause and take a moment to enjoy those little every day blessing and moments that we've been given.
The concept:
As Scrapbookers (and wives, mothers, sisters, daughters and women in general) we spend so much time creating in the past and anticipating the future that we sometimes forget to live in the present. Our life is unfolding everyday, hour-by-hour and we have the opportunity to live and be happy.
Let’s be more aware, more grateful and more engaged with this thing we call life.
In the next couple of weeks (after baby comes) these pictures will make their way in to a mini album that I'll carry around in my purse for the next year and will pull out every time I stumble upon it.
Here are 10 photos that capture my life right NOW:
Young women... hang out with them twice a week... teach them, learn from them and love them more than words can ever express.
4th of July decorations that still need to be put away... yikes... we'll pretend that they're still up in celebration of the upcoming Presidential election.
Goofy, horrible, bad, no good, late night self portrait picture of us... but hey its a snapshot in time right?
Baby boy's corner in our room.
Groceries waiting to be put away in the food storage... stocking up on last minute items before I'm house bound for the next little while.
Joey's army "diaper bag" that he packed himself.
Instead of doing a dresser for little man we opted to do the Expedit system from Ikea. It holds ALL of his stuff... clothes, diapers, quilts, books, toys and misc. stuff... we just finished organizing it and I LOVE IT!!! It's worked out perfectly!!!
A cute cute cute BYU onesie from my sweet blog buddy Hilary Shirley. I love it!
Fall decorating starting to creep its way in to my house... I love Fall!!!
Almost done... just a few days to go!!
