I'm trying to embrace Autumn here in the South... it's not the cool, nippy, colorful fall that I grew up with and absolutely love... I usually get to go to Utah every October and that gets me through this non-fallish Texas weather... but I didn't get to go to Utah this fall... so I'm trying to focus on the positive (and doing my best not to be grumpy with temperatures in the high 80's).
Autumn highlights:
A hayride, petting zoo and pumpkin patch at The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm... a cute little family farm... super cute! (I'm ignoring the fact that it was so warm that we were all sweating on the Hayride).
Driving through the country this time of year and seeing the fields of hay. So beautiful!
"Autumn at the Arboretum"... The Dallas Arboretum has the neatest Pumpkin Village, small petting zoo, face painting and hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins. Buddy could have stacked and lined up pumpkins all day and been a happy little man!
Trip to Canton to purchase Fall mums... I try to get to Canton every October... its my favorite time to go since all the Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff is all out. This year I found out that a dear friend was going on the same day so we decided to go together. I couldn't find my pumpkin farmer this year but scored on some awesome pots of mums and had a really fun day!!
And finally our Church Fall Festival.... no Autumn would be complete without it... one of my favorite activities of the year. Bonfires, cute little chicks and good friends are my favorite combination!
Still working on my October book and enjoying every minute of this glorious season. I absolutely love October!!
